Together they raised five children, Cynthia Schlosser of Peterborough, New Hampshire, James Schlosser of Boca Raton, Florida, Timothy Schlosser of Tallmadge and Terry Schlosser of Poland. Their daughter, Melissa Schlosser King, died November 23, 2000. In 1958, Louella began working at the Howard Johnson’s Travel Plaza of the Ohio Turnpike in New Springfield while her husband, Frank, was on strike at the steel mill. She worked nights at first, but once the strike ended, she continued working. Twice during those years, she left work to care for duties at home, but continued to work until she was 81.

She accomplished all of this while raising her family. During her years working, she hired and managed many young people and it seemed she never forgot anyone.
Louella cherished her many nieces and nephews and did her best to keep up with them, always wanting to hear about their families. She especially loved to hear about her son, Tim and daughter-in-law, Laura’s stories about her nine young great-nieces and great-nephews. She was born December 10, 1923 in Bessemer, Pennsylvania. Louella was the last surviving child of Charles B. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Carl B. And Eldred Nord and five sisters, Phoebe Nord, Lois Bair, Marjorie Keane, Mary Jane Sigler and Arley Ann Nord.
Karen Schlosser
Aleata was a very active member of First Assembly of God now Journey Church. She lived a life of service to others whether it was through church volunteerism, scouts, mission work, or with her friends or family. Whenever a need presented itself, she raised a hand and stepped forward. Her life of service began as a young girl where she services as a surrogate mom to her siblings and later to her nieces and nephew. She was affectionately known as mom and gramme to her girls’ friends and she cared for and nursed family and friends to health numerous times.
Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. Sam, I didn’t know you well, but my husband graduated with you. Bob died 4 1/2 years ago and I understand the feeling of loss.

Karen was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and played clarinet in the Purdue symphony band. After graduation, Karen moved to Plymouth, Indiana and worked at Plymouth Foundry for over 40 years in purchasing and accounting. Karen actively served the Plymouth community by volunteering with the Marshall County Purdue Alumni Club, including serving as a President.
Karen Schlosser was the best wife, mother, and friend. She thought about the needs of others first and quickly became their friend. Our deepest sympathies to Karen’s family, Sam , Lori and Amy and her brother. We treasure the times we have spent with one another and our adventures. Heaven received another Angel when Karen was called home.
Tri Kappa , Friends of the Library, Marshall County Community Foundation Board, Marshall Country Encore Performing Arts Board, and Crossroads Church. Karen loved to travel and went on several trips with her family and Purdue Musical Organizations, including Hawaii, Maine, South Africa, Poland, and Germany. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Sam Schlosser, daughters Amee Schlosser and Lori Schlosser , and her brother Gary Germann. Pre-planning final arrangements is sometimes handled as the final frontier of retirement planning.
Her attitude of daily life was so positive and she always gave 100% in everything she set out to do. In recent years, Louella didn’t care to go out much but she enjoyed her days passing time with word search puzzles and solitaire computer games. She was an avid reader, always with a book in hand, particularly liking historical fiction. She was above all a hard worker, a trait she shared with her siblings.
Please know I am thinking of you and your entire family. I know your heart is broken this holiday season, but trust me, it will heal and eventually you will be better. There will always be a hole in your heart for her, but the pain does lessen.
Gail was a loving wife and mother and raised 3 daughters. She was a nurse until her children came, a domestic Goddess and an Office Manager/”girl Friday” for Canwest Design Group working with her husband. She was an avid gardener and deeply involved in her faith at St. Charles Garnier Parish. My deepest sympathy to the Schlosser Family. Karen was truly a very giving person and so loved.
Her home was always open and welcoming to strays – friends of her children, family members, her friends and even a dog or cat or two. She leaves a legacy of love, compassion, and service. We will honor her life by following the example she set for each of us. Karen Schlosser was born on January 6, 1951 to Henry and Esther Germann in Evansville, Indiana. She attended Harrison High School and later Purdue University where she majored in Health and Human Services Education.
